Over 450 guests attended the inaugural awards dinner at Edgbaston on Monday 6th June, which was hosted by Alison Hammond and celebrated the finest talents in the food, drink and hospitality industry in Birmingham.
Edgbaston was awarded the Best Venue award and beat off stiff competition from the Barclaycard Arena, The ICC, Resorts World and The Town Hall Symphony Hall to be crowned the winner.
Craig Flindall, Director of Edgbaston said "We are so delighted to have won this fantastic award as we were up against some of the finest venues in the region. We are extremely proud of the facilities we now have at the stadium along with the catering and service quality we provide, hence it’s an honour to have this recognised by our customers and peers."
Since its redevelopment in 2011, Edgbaston has significantly invested in its catering and hospitality facilities together with its catering team. This has driven significant growth in catering related revenues and Edgbaston is now established as one of the leading conference, exhibition and hospitality venues in the Midlands.
On 6th July Edgbaston will be launching its first fine dining restaurant ‘Elegant Eat’ to showcase some of the exquisite and award winning food our Head Chef, Dave Hill and this team can produce. Guests will be treated to a 5 course menu in our prestigious Warwickshire Suite. The July event is one of only two bespoke, fine dining evenings Edgbaston will be hosting this year and places are limited.
