Cheltenham Racecourse wins ‘Food & Beverage Award’ at RCA Showcase Awards 2016
Now in its seventh year, the RCA Showcase Awards is the marquee event of the Racecourse Association and celebrates excellence and innovation amongst British Racecourses in improving the customer experience.
Cheltenham Racecourse was commended for the successful completion of The Princess Royal Stand which opened in November 2015 as part of a major £45m investment, ushering in a new era for Cheltenham by creating one of the world's foremost racing and non-race day experiences.
New concepts have been developed throughout the Stand including the Big Buck’s champagne bar and seafood deli, boasting one of the largest selections of champagne, in the Cotswold Club guests enjoy picnic inspired hampers which champion local produce.
Further innovations include The Cheltenham Club, a fine dining experience whereby members are allocated a table for the season. On the top floor of the Stand, The Cheltenham Club offers an atmosphere reminiscent of a private members club where they can to enjoy a four course, a la carte lunch and 360 degree views from the balcony.

Judges were impressed with the level of service that underpins the operation and enhances the race day experience with Maggie Carver, Racecourse Association Chairman, adding: “Well done to the winners and I’m very pleased for the team at Cheltenham Racecourse who have clearly shown the very best in excellence and innovation throughout the year.”
Jockey Club Catering is a joint venture between The Jockey Club, the largest commercial group in British racing, and Compass Group UK & Ireland. The partnership was launched in 2009 with the aim of providing premium quality catering at all 15 of The Jockey Club racecourses. In 2013, the exclusive business relationship was extended until 2025.
