How long have we worked together?:

We have been at IWM North since 2005 and IWM Duxford, HMS Belfast and Churchill War rooms since 2015

Quick Facts:

Levy UK has been tasked with the major mobilisation project at The Churchill War Rooms, HMS Belfast, Duxford and IWM North. The museum group attracts more than two million visitors each year.

Client Objectives:

Appointed as the caterer to design and manage a wide range of new eating and entertaining spaces across the IWM portfolio (IWM Duxford, Churchill War Rooms, HMS Belfast) to create tailor made catering concepts to enhance the retail catering offering through innovations, including:

 

  • HMS Belfast – catering exclusively for the pre-pay line: introduced a destination bar and deli, and refreshed on-boat café.
  • IWM Duxford – developed three brand new public post pay line restaurants: The Armoury Café, The Workshop Restaurant and the American Museum café.
  • Churchill War Museum – a 40 cover café and mobile unit was developed at The Café Churchill War Rooms.
  • IWM North – new café and conference and event facilities.

Results:

The financial achievements yielded from the IWM project are testament to the sound retail strategy:

  • 25% year-on-year retail sales growth at HMS Belfast in a new deli, bar and visitor café
  • 60% increase in spend per transaction at IWM Duxford’s The Workshop restaurant
  • £450k increase in conferences and events spend
  • Extended the IWM North contract after six months due to the success of the project
